POULTRY FARMING
It is considered as a prosperous and well-organized industry with more than 300,000 examples of posture. The facilities are located in the vicinity of the urban area.
CATTLE RAISING
The livestock farm ranks first in the region with a weekly fair of fat cattle, levante and breeding cows. ' There are preferences for the Normando, Pardo Suizo, Holsteín and Cebu breeds. Most specimens, however, are crosses of these breeds with good performance and easy adaptation to climates.
The exhibition fair of San Isidro, which had a distinctly cultural character in the time of Monsignor Gutiérrez, has served to improve the breeds of all kinds of cattle.
PISCICULTURE
An aquaculture industry with rainbow trout specimens is organized in La Cumbre ranch, village of Chinia, owned by the Vanegas brothers. Its production is complete and its facilities allow incubation and breeding of specimens for consumption in Fómeque and several sites in Bogotá. The tourist and recreational importance of this company should be highlighted.
