Paisajes y Labranzas S.A.S. is a family business that produces vegetables in partnership with farmers in the municipality of Fómeque Cundinamarca. It is, the Gachaquin Farm where the plantings are carried out as well as being a place where the visitors live the production of vegetables, the rural landscape and the rural culture of the Cundinamarca region.

Gachaquin Farm has 20 hectares where you enter a rural landscape of vegetable crops, silvopastoral systems with cattle, a lake of red mojarra breeding and forest areas of native species.
Gachaquin House, is an adequate adobe construction with four rooms for the accommodation of 19 people, with shared bathroom. The wood-fired oven is the place where the traditional Fomequeño dough is made, a moment to share between visitors and local inhabitants.

Location

Gachaquin Farm is located in the municipality of Fómeque Cundinamarca, 56 km from the city of Bogotá. The road that goes from the center of the city to the Cerro de Guadalupe crosses the Paramo del Verjón, high Andean forests and small peasant farms until reaching the Municipality of Choachi. From there to the hamlet of La Unión in the municipality of Fómeque, take a road that leads to the farm, the journey through these landscapes is 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Activities

  • In the Gachaquin farm you can learn about and participate in the activities of paprika cultivation, livestock management in silvopastoral systems and fish your red mojarra (season) to prepare it in the wood oven together with the Fomequeño dough.
  • Hikes, horseback riding and bird watching.
  • Talks, visits and activities that allow us to understand the dynamics of a rural rural area as an economic, social and environmental component of the current Colombian society. Depending on the particular interest of visitors, visits can be focused on productive agricultural activities, social or environmental studies

It is a farm located in the village Chinia for trout production, has a capacity for about 45,000 trout which are sold to tourists and businesses in eastern Cundinamarca as well as in the city of Bogotá.
